OK, I just got a response today from someone who is still reading my blogs. So I guess I need to keep writing. I honestly felt that most people have lost interest in what I have to say after the hype of the contest died down. But for those of you who care and want to know what I am thinking, well, I guess I will keep writing.
Let me just start out by making this statement...God is good. I don't have enough time to share everything He is doing in our lives right now, but let me try and summarize it with how He has provided some amazing things that have kept us encouraged that this music thing is an act of obedience and worth pursuing.
Remember that we needed a bigger trailer and didn't know how we were going to afford it? God provided a toyhauler through some new friends and we are able to use it without a big debt hanging over our heads. (it is a long story, but a good one).
Another amazing "God thing" is that I felt this conviction that if we did not feel that we were to walk away from this music thing, then we needed to walk towards it. After spending some time in Nashville, I noticed the kids had a calmness about them that seemed unusual...I had not seen it for a long time. When we returned home, I began to pray about it and felt we needed to spend some serious time in Music City. However, I asked God for confirmation through providing a safe place for us to live that we could afford. Within 48 hours God provided a horse farm outside of Nashville that uses it's facilities for Christian ministry...WOW. (this is another long story, but an equally good one).
We finished recording on Monday, so next week we will be packing up and leaving for Nashville...we can't wait! We hope to share our experiences with our fans via youtube.
Well, time to move on to the next thing on my list...do me a favor, can you send me a response from time to time to let me know your reading? Thanks!

This is a common question we get when we talk to people. What are you guys up to? Well, it is a difficult question to answer. We are busy and yet we are not. We are busy with school, church, and the usual music stuff like lessons and recitals. We have always been a busy family. But as for J4, well we are in a peaceful time. We are getting back into the studio and working on things that we have had to shelve because we were so busy.I have to believe that this time is very important because... Continue reading...

December is always a busy month for us, with church events and more social things than usual, not to mention shopping and decorating. However, this year is a little different. We are trying to write and learn new music, record a new CD and book schools for the tour in the Spring. Christmas has almost become an afterthought in our home.
Getting ready for this tour has become priority. We are focusing on making J4 concerts a great experience for the fans. And the kids have really began work... Continue reading...

Yes, I've been gone a long time...in fact, I will be amazed if anyone is still reading this blog. But for the two of you that still check this blog from time to time...here is what is going on. CBS is supporting the kids in their new endeavor....a school tour. However, much of it will be done by us. I am trying to consider this a blessing, because that means we get to make the important decisions that accompany a tour. We are getting a late start on booking, but we believe that schools wil... The news isn't good I'm afraid. The download numbers just aren't there. I will not say what the numbers are because that isn't really necessary...they're just low. So what does that mean? Maybe people don't like the songs, or maybe people don't know how to download, or maybe people are just too busy...I mean just voting for the kids was easier and cheaper!Well what does this mean for us? I don't know. It could mean that this is the end of J4 or just the beginning. Only God knows. And it... Continue reading...

The past day has been very tough for me. I am trying to understand what God is doing in the life of J4. I want doors to open for the kids because that is what they want. They love to perform. However, we are having a very hard time reaching young people. The problem with the "J4 Launch" was that they made their debut on the CBS Early Show. Now how many kids do you think were watching Tuesday morning?? Only if their teachers turned on the TV during school hours, then they heard the kids.

Over the past couple of days, J4's manager and myself have been working the internet, and the local press to get the word out about the downloads. It has been somewhat frustrating but a necessary process. You see, if the downloads don't do well, then well Tuesday could have been the pinnacle of their short career. I don't believe that God opened this door just to shut it 6 months later. I do think this is the beginning, however God expects us to do all we can with what he gives us, so I am ... I am writing this blog while flying back to Tennessee. It has been a good & a little stressful day. The kids did great this morning on the CBS Early Show. I couldn't be prouder of them. It was a great way to bring closer to this season of...The Singing Family Face-off.
Seeing friends again and having the opportunity to share with America the journey of J4 has been an honor. I don't know if today will be the pinnacle of this band of four siblings, or just the beginning, only God knows. ... Continue reading...

Today was Sunday and it was definitely a blessing to be in worship and interacting with my church family. After a rough week of concerts, recitals, video taping, and practicing, it was nice to sit and soak in the love of God. It was a good Sunday...tonight the kids sang a few songs at an area church gathering of over 500 people. They received so much encouragement and were blessed by the people there. God knew we needed to receive some uplifting before we were lifted up to New York. In less... Continue reading...

Just got word last night that we are heading back to the Early Show next Tuesday, September 29th! Yes, it's short notice but we knew this announcement was coming, and we are glad to finally know the date. So it's crunch time, we have a lot of ducks to get in a row, and we have two concerts AND a recital between now and getting on an airplane. We will have to be very creative and organized. So here is what will happen on Tuesday...the kids will sing one song on the Early Show, a remake of "Don... Continue reading...

I homeschool the kids as well as coach them in their music and taxi them here and there. It is a challenge with many rewards. God has blessed me tremendously...and I am grateful.
